About

I started surfing at the age of 13 and was immediately taken by it. The beach became so much to me. It was the place to hang out with friends, it was my fitness centre, it was my special place where I could clear my mind and gain perspective on life. It was a place of growth where I honed my skills. I grew up with it.

In 2011, I moved from the Central Coast to Sydney and started my career as an accountant and business advisor. I still remember the day I drove to Bondi Beach eager for a paddle only to return home because I couldn’t find a car space. Surfing fell by the wayside subordinate to my accounting career and further studies. I was getting into work early and leaving late in an effort to prove myself. But I soon realised that without surfing, I was without balance.

My wife and I returned to the Central Coast in 2017 and since then I have rediscovered my surfing roots. I have learned that balance leads to greater productivity and prosperity at work through a fitter body and mind.

Surf Then Work is inspired by balance and our mission is to combine both surfing and networking to provide synergy in our lives. Our monthly sessions will give you the much needed excuse to get out there in the water. You’ll start your Friday feeling great having caught some waves and shared a brew. It’s an opportunity to meet some likeminded people, build your professional network, and share ideas, while doing something we love. I hope you join me in the lineup.

Our sessions are free to attend, just refer to the news and events for the next session. Membership is offered to those who regularly attend.

Step 1

Join like-minded professionals for an early morning surf at first light. Paddle out as the sun rises while those other lazy buggers are still sleeping.

Step 2

Have your fill of waves then head over to the surf club or closest cafe for breakfast or a coffee and caffeinate with the crew.

Step 3

Connect with other professionals and business owners on the Central Coast who, like you, are challenged to find time for a surf among a busy schedule of meetings and business development.
